Holmes County Trail Overview
The
Holmes County Trail is a paved 16 mile rail trail from Fredericksburg, Ohio to Killbuck, Ohio. The trail occupies the former railbed of the Cleveland and Pittsburgh Railroad in Holmes County. The trail plan is for 29 miles.
This quiet and well-liked trail in the countryside has an adjoining wood chip trail for horses and local Amish buggies that use the trail. Wildlife along the trail include deer, beavers, snapping turtles and sandhill cranes.
There are several places near the trail for food, but incomplete sources of water. Bikers are encouraged to bring their own water.
