Richland B & O Trail Overview
The
Richland B & O Trail is a paved 18 mile rail trail from Butler, Ohio to Mansfield, Ohio in Richland County. The trail occupies the former railbed of the Baltimore and Ohio Railway. The Richland B & O Trail is a low traffic trail that is 10 feet wide is a mostly rural trail passing farms, forest and one marshy area. The trail is relatively flat with small towns every few miles for rest stops, food and water. In addition, there are rest stops on the trail in Bellville and Lexington that have water fountains, restrooms and Coke machines. The National Park Service has designated Richland B & O Trail as a National Recreation Trail.
For bike repairs or supplies there is a bike shop in Lexington, Ohio. There is a 10 mile horseback riding path from Walnut Grove to Willard.

Richland B & O trailheads are located in Bolivar, Springfield, Willard, Walnut Grove and Wishart.
