The
The Butler-Freeport Community Trail is
a 20 mile rail trail which runs from Laneville to Butler in
Western Pennsylvania. The trail is located approximately 40
minutes north of Pittsburgh, in Butler County. The trail has
16 miles of crushed limestone and 4 miles of unimproved dirt
trail..
The
Butler-Freeport Community Trail
passes through small towns, farmland, streams
(Buffalo Creek) and wetlands, wooded valleys and remnants
of the local industrial base that once existed along the railroad.
The trail has eleven bridges along its route.
