Trail Overview
The
Montour Trail located in Allegheny and Washington Counties
Pennsylvania is a 46 mile rail trail connecting Coraopolis,
PA to Clairton, PA. The rail trail now has 40 miles
of completed trail and has a crushed limestone surface. Through
Peters Township the trail is sometimes refereed to as The
Arrowhead Trail.
This Montour
Trail is a nice scenic trail with many wooded nature areas,
historic sites and small towns. The trail has good access
points along its length and much natural beauty and wildlife.
In addition, most of the towns along the such as Ford, Kittanning
and Templeton have many restaurants, shops, and other attractions.
Crossing
the Montour Trail in McDonald is the The Panhandle
Trail. This rail trail is 29 miles and goes from Carnegie,
PA, to Weirton, WV.
