River Trail North
Youghiogheny
River Trail North Overview
The
Youghiogheny River Trail North is
a 43 mile rail trail which runs from between McKeesport and
Connellsville in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The
Youghiogheny River Trail, along with many other trails,
is part of the Great Allegheny Passage which is a 152 mile
trail that will connect Pittsburgh, Pa with Cumberland, Md.
The wooded
trail follows the Youghiogheny River and offers relatively
easy going on trails of packed limestone. The trail has good
access to towns and provisions as well as bed and breakfasts.
In 1994
Travel and Leisure Magazine named The Youghiogheny
River Trail one
of the World's Best Walks.
