Overview
The
Union Pacific Trail
is a 28 mile rail trail from Park City, Utah to Echo Reservoir. The trail travels through Park City Wanship and Coalville ending at Echo Reservoir. Highlights include The Wasatch Mountains, Silver Creek Canyon and the Weber River ending at Echo Reservoir.
Union Pacific Rail Trail History
The railroad was created by several railroad companies over the years including the Coalville-Echo Railroad, the Summit County Railroad Company and finally Union Pacific Railroad which abandoned the line in 1989. The railroad lines primarily carried coal and silver from mines in the Coalville and Park City areas.The trail was dedicated in 1992.
There are no fees to use the trail. The trail is for day use only.
